Taylor, Beyonce and You 🎤
I believe in following the signs and love when I can piece the messages together.
Taylor swift wins album of the year at the 2024 grammy awards.
Beyonce drops 2 country songs.
Taylor swift Netflix documentary is on, can’t sleep, binged the entire thing.
Beyonce songs play at my next yoga class.
ok ok I am listening! 💫
Can you see/feel the messages? In case you don’t let me spell out what I heard;
Resilience, reinvention, daring, learn something new, challenge yourself, discover new things, get uncomfortable.
Think of Taylor Swift and Beyoncé—two titans of the entertainment industry who, despite reaching the pinnacles of success, never shy away from embracing change. Their ability to pivot, to evolve, is a testament to their unwavering commitment to growth, innovation and excellence.
Just as Beyoncé transitions from R&B to country, and Taylor Swift did from country to pop, so too must we be willing to embrace new horizons in our own endeavors for is in the growth where it all lays. In the world of real estate, where the landscape is ever-shifting, this adaptability is not just an asset—it's a necessity.
Yes, there will always be naysayers, critics ready to pounce at the first sign of deviation from the norm. You will be your own worst critic, you will make a million excuses as to WHY you can’t, it’s not your thing, your strength, you will not be good at it.
My first mentor in Real Estate emphasized the importance of video presence for me. She insisted, 'You exude magnetism on camera; that's where you belong.' This was back when video content wasn't even popular. However, I disregarded her advice, coming up with countless excuses—I believed my accent was too strong, I gestured too much, or even joked about having 'a lazy eye' when tired. It took me a staggering 16 years to overcome these self-imposed barriers and finally launch my YouTube channel. Surprisingly, it resonated with people more than I could have imagined.
Same went for writing, I’ve always been told I was a good story teller and should write. Ha! It’s not even my first language, you can imagine how far back I rolled my eyes at this one, yet writing this Sunday letters while totally outside of my comfort zone has been so incredibly rewarding to me and from the feedback I get from you, they are value and impactful for you as well.
It's not just about the music, or the deals closed—it's about the message we send, the inspiration we ignite. Those who stand by us through every twist and turn, every bold endeavor, are not just fans or loyal customers—they're believers. They see in us the same spirit of adventure, the same drive to push boundaries, that fuels their own aspirations.
Picture a world where we all uplift, hold space and cheer each other on to pursue our dreams—a much brighter place, isn't it? While achieving this on a global scale might seem daunting, what's within my grasp is creating a community where such encouragement thrives, and if you are reading this, you're an integral part of that circle.
So I am here to tell you, let us be like Taylor and Beyoncé—fearless in the face of uncertainty, unyielding in our pursuit of excellence. Let us dare to dream bigger, reach higher, and in doing so, inspire those around us to do the same.
What's the one aspect of your job that you're resisting, yet deep down, you recognize that embracing it could significantly enhance your career trajectory?
On a personal level, what's the one thing you're consistently avoiding, despite knowing that if you confronted it head-on, your life would likely experience considerable improvement?
It’s not about what we achieve, but who we become in the process. Get uncomfortable!
With gratitude, determination and love,
Susana~
